Dependability - Built to last, made to be trusted and worn daily.

I’m Tyler Worden, an Industrial Designer with an artist's obsession with meaning. I founded Worden Watch Studio because I realized it was my Ikigai: The intersection of skill, passion and purpose that I couldn’t ignore. I never fit into the world of salaries, office politics, and begging for raises. I wanted to reap what I sowed. To build something larger than myself.
Watches were the perfect medium to sink my teeth into. I love the constraints of watch design; It must tell the time, be comfortable and survive the trials of life. But beyond that, watch design has endless possibilities! Watches can be fun, imposing, sleek, or symbolic. A watch can be a work-horse companion, a piece of art, or a part of your identity.
I realized was that no one was using watches to honor our Shared Human Experience. For example, the passing of time, the relentless changing, the nostalgia of youth and the hope for the future. The simple joys and the inner worlds that we all navigate but seldom speak of. I wanted to make watches that felt like soul-level recognition.
The watch industry felt broken. Entry-level luxury watches were conservative to the point of being forgettable because volume-driven brands were terrified of taking creative risks. And the brands that were taking risks were price prohibitive.
There were almost no options for people who wanted expressive, artistic watches without needing some serious funds.
So I asked a simple question:
Why can’t we take everyday watch materials, apply artistic thinking, and create soul-filled, risk-taking watches that are attainable?
Nobody was doing that.
So I decided I would.
Worden is my contribution to fixing a massive gap in the industry: The lack of unapologetically unique, emotionally expressive watches for everyday people.
Worden is leading that movement. One watch at a time.
I’m not just creating watches.
I’m trailblazing a path.
I’m building for people who want artistic, soulful, timepieces that feel scarce, intentional, and personal. For people who don’t see themselves in sterile luxury or heritage cosplay. For the tastemakers who see the world’s watch offerings and say “is that it?”
Because ultimately, I believe in a future where courageous watch designers rise up, create from the heart, and offer the world a spectrum of unique watch experiences.
If others can stand on my shoulders, that’s the point.
This is the beginning of a movement.

From building bike ramps, to stencil art to avant-garde furniture, Tyler Worden has always been a Designer, Builder and Artist. After high school, he spent 5 years living in new cities (Montreal, Seoul) and traveling with the goal to understand both himself and his place in the world. One afternoon, while relaxing in a park overlooking Prague, Tyler was told about a university program he had never heard of before: Industrial Design.
Industrial Design is the art or process of designing mass-manufactured products. From eyewear to furniture, cellphones to musical instruments. Almost everything around you was designed by an Indsutrial Designer.
Upon his return to Canada, Tyler decided this was the direction he must head in and took evening classes to get the three prerequisites necessary to merely apply to the Industrial Design program.
Two years later, he completed the courses and applied with a portfolio of his work including a homerun piece; a tensioned leather chair designed and built by himself. With a 1 in 5 shot of getting accepted, his chances were slim but he knew what he wanted. He was accepted to Carleton University's School of Industrial Design in 2017 and graduated in 2021.
Tyler Worden believes products should be usable, dependable and unobtrusive first and foremost. Style is absolutely necessary but not at the cost to the user experience.
When it comes to a watch, he believes the bare minimum is:
- Easy to read the time
- Dependable to tell the correct time
- Comfortable on the wrist
For these reasons, he has become a proponent of quartz movements for their:
- Superior accuracy over mechanical movements
- Superior power reserve over mechanical movements
- Superior drop resistance over mechanical movements
- Negligible servicing costs vs mechanical movements
And while there is a wonderful romance to a mechanical movement, it is not always the right choice for a watch owner.
Style is the second pillar and the watch industry has been inundated with derivative designs of vintage watches, divers and “tool” watches. There is no need for another watch brand to produce them nor does Tyler want to offer the same old same old.
Instead, Worden is producing watches that are completely unique, elegantly simple and make you feel seen in your experience of life. Fusing timeless watch design principles into a shape that garners compliments from both watch enthusiasts and non-watch enthusiasts alike, the distinct circle within a square design is a calling card for Worden.
Tyler’s dream is to lead a new generation of watch designers into the 21st century world of watchmaking. He imagines a world where watches are conceived by passionate designers and watchmakers unencumbered by boardroom consensus and thereby offering a plethora of unique options to watch wearers around the globe.

Worden creates timepieces that feel more like artistic wrist sculptures than watches. Each design starts as an poetic concept, evolves through meticulous design iterations, and is released in small numbered drops. Every watch theme connects you to our Shared Human Experience.
All designs come directly from Tyler Worden, the founder and designer behind the brand. Every angle, proportion, and material choice is considered in-house before production begins. On occasion, Tyler teams up with an Artist, Designer, or Creator to make unique collab-watches but ultimately, each Worden sold has Tyler’s stamp of approval.
Worden watches are produced in small batches through trusted manufacturing partners in Hong Kong, then occasionally modified and re-assembled in the Worden Watch Studio in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. This blend of precision manufacturing and human touch ensures dependability and soul in every piece.
Fun fact, the Via Negativa, Bubble Gum and SunnySide themes have cases manufactured in Guelph, Ontario, Canada using foreign parts to complete the watch and Tyler Worden does the assembly in-house.
Each theme is released in a finite run, and once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. Never to be released again. The goal is to create a collection of meaningful works that age like fine wine.
Every watch goes through human hands during manufacturing, finishing, and assembly. While advanced machining handles precision, skilled craftspeople take over in the assembly and quality control stages to ensure each watch is as it should be.
Yes. Each Worden is designed to be lived in, not stored away. The cases, crystals, and components are chosen for long-term durability while maintaining a refined, sculptural feel.
New drops are released only when the design feels complete. Expect 3 to 4 drops per year.
The heart symbolizes Tyler's belief that design should be made with love. It’s a reminder that every decision, from proportion to polish, was made with care and intention.

Treat it as a piece of wearable art. Avoid harsh chemicals and salt water, and don't get the leather strap wet. A quick wipe with a soft cloth will keep the case and crystal looking clean. Always keep the crown screwed down to prevent water getting into the watch.
